“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”
Happy Monday everyone! A new week with new opportunities, how exciting! I’m not going to get too deeply into what’s going on with me just yet, because I don’t have all the answers I need to make an informed decision. But I promise, I’ll keep you posted and take you along on the journey.
Today, I wanted to share some of the most powerful ideas I’ve come across that inspired me to take action. My hope is that one or more of them sparks something in you too.
Let’s start here: lift heavier than you think you should.
1️⃣ Light weights maintain. Heavy weights rebuild. First rebuild, then maintain.
2️⃣ Eat protein like it matters, because it does. Your muscles need fuel to grow.
3️⃣ Stop dieting. Chronic calorie restriction can age your face and slow your metabolism.
4️⃣ Train your balance. Falls accelerate aging far more than wrinkles ever will.
5️⃣ Walk daily for your body, your mind, your longevity.
6️⃣ Sleep. Deep sleep equals repair, recovery, and growth.
7️⃣ Reduce inflammation before chasing fat loss. Think omega-3s, whole foods, sunlight, and recovery.
8️⃣ Fix your posture. Shoulders back. Chin neutral. It impacts more than you think.
9️⃣ Regulate stress. Meditate, stretch, read, laugh, connect. Cortisol works against everything you’re trying to build.
Aging isn’t the problem. Weakness is.
I find myself in a season of reflection, choosing to embrace the good, the bad, and yes, even the uncomfortable, with an open mind and heart. There are so many voices telling us our value is tied to youth or appearance. But what if this is the moment we challenge that?
Every gray hair. Every line. They tell a story. They represent growth, resilience, wisdom.
Maybe this is our time, not to hide, but to stand up, speak out, and redefine what it means to age.
So here’s my question for you as we step into this week:
Are you going to spend your time chasing youth… or building strength that lasts?
One response to “The Weekly Pull”
Great blog! I so agree with all of this but I have embraced the gray hair idea for several years. I believe I have earned each and every one on my head! 🥰
